The sun symbolizes light and souce of life in the region, bringing forth joy, happiness, celebration and bringing forth joy, happiness, celebration and bright, sunny holidays in ASEAN. It also signifies a future full of memorable experiences in store for the people of the region and those who visit it.
The rice stalk stands for the staple diet in the ASEAN countries giving nourishment and life to those who visit and live in the region. The 10 grains of rice represent the 10 ASEAN member countries, held together in harmony by one stalk, one region, one destination, one dream.
